www.snapdrive.net
This site is a disgrace to all the filesharing community and what it stands for. Site Stealing is nothing more than theft. The webmaster at www.snapdrive.net has put a LOT of hard work and effort into building up his own file hosting site, tweaking the scripts to increase stability and access, building models from scratch to work on the site. Now, his site has been stolen, all the hours of work have been for nothing because of people just taking the site for their own. This has been illegal on the internet for a long time and programmers have their rights for the code they write. To review this site as anything other than an offense to all the files haring and webmaster communties stand for would be wrong.
This site should not be allowed to continue and I urge the webmasters of this site to reconsider their efforts, the file sharing community is not happy. Open Source is one thing but www.snapdrive.net is NOT open source.
I urge all users of this site AND of snapdrive and anyone who feels strongly about this case to stand up against this immitation of a far better site.
This site will always be one or two steps behind www.snapdrive.net while they steal the code to update their site.
Register with www.snapdrive.net and recieve a better service than you will here.

It clearly states on their home page,
"Upload most file types
No File Type Restrictions"
Then I register and I'm limited to any
image files only or zip files that only
contain images. Thats fine it thats the
rule, but then why lie on the homepage?
"NO FILE TYPE RESTRICTIONS"
It should say Image file types only.

2 Gigabytes of File Storage and Backup for Free.
What more than 2GB of free space do I need to say? You need to register for that, but even without registering, you have 20MB of file hosting, anonymously. What more? Nothing, it's pretty awesome.

The server just got bigger and is now 4GB. The file restrictions are only for the public accounts, and when you log in to a registered account there are no image only file.

They Upgraded Their Space!
EggDisk just upgraded their space for all of their users to 6GB. That is really wonderful.
For those of you who said that they only host pictures, then you haven't created your account yet. You can host almost anything on there then.
I look foward to seeing what they will do in the future.

6GB with Registration and Login
Once you register and login, the files you can upload are "jpg, jpeg, png, gif, bmp, txt, mp3, wav, mov, wma, wmv, rar, zip, tar.gz, swf, xml, xspf, flv, m3u, asf, 7z, rm, esp, avim, flac, ogg, bsp, res, mdl, spr, wad, tga, doc, ppt, wrl, mp4, aac, pdf." Seems pretty fair to me.
6GB of lifetime online free file storage isn't bad either. Any similarities end when you see 2GB versus 6GB.

Reliability is the key.
Experimented with a few webhosts before I found Eggdisk, and things wouldn't have been better. Fast upload and download time. I love it, so do my friends who access my mix via Eggdisk.
Nvm if there's a bashing from some. In webhosting, what counts is reliable upload & download service. I did guard against Eggdisk initially, mainly due to similar user interface with Snapdrive. However, I am glad that both sites are not related in any way.
Main difference - which is the key reason! - why I hop over to Eggdisk is the reliability. My files do not go missing, 100% successful uploads. This is not something that I have experienced in Snapdrive. As a user, I went searching for some answers - and realised a tonne of people in Snapdrive forum are facing the same thing.
For now, thumbs up for Eggdisk.
This is an online storage that I will continue using as long as it stays this way, and highly recommended to my friends and associates.

7gb and nice download speed
I love Eggdisk. Compared to other sites, it's great. No stupid restrictions on when you can download or upload a file and the space is a great amount, especially for free. I can't wait to see what they offer in the future.
The people saying it's a ripoff of snapdrive, if snapdrive was half as decent then we would care but eggdisk all the way.

Very nice service. Highly recomendable. 6 gigs plus promos everyweek. Just a simple add at myspace, he added 10 gig bandwidth. You cant go wrong.

Eggdisk used to have 100 mb file size but 5mb for registered users is just horrible! What kind of web host these days can get away with 5 mbs??? At least they have a large bandwidth for downloading and they allow hotlinking.

Eggdisk is one of the best file hosting services I have found.
This site currently says 2GB for the file space but that is now completely wrong as eggdisk has now increased that to 6GB!!! Yes 6.
I have never found one like it, even that snapdrive.net that people talk about is nowhere near as good as eggdisk is.
I do strongly addvise you to try it. They are even updating their servers to more reliable ones for the future. They are the biggest file hosting service out there. Full 10/10.

A few words
Eggdisk is great service that provides great space and great bandwidth. I like it. You notice that some folks have been accusing eggdisk of stealing from snapdrive.net. They have claimed that eggdisk has stolen the site from snapdisk. How? You can't just rip web apps off someone's site. The scripts are executed on the server BEFORE they get to browser. I know. I run my own website. Even you save the web page, you can't get the web app code, you just get a generated page. It probably would be a tough hack to steal the whole system. Further, why would eggdisk hack in and steal the snapdrive.net web apps when they get file hosting web apps for free from same place dropfiles.net got theirs. The burden of proof rests those who accuse eggdisk. How could they know that eggdisk steals the web app code. Have they hacked eggdisk? They seem to claim it is immoral to use eggdisk, yet they say "This site will always be one or two steps behind www.snapdrive.net while they steal the code to update their site." How do they know eggdisk is "always be one or two steps behind www.snapdrive.net"? Do they use it? How can eggdisk continually "steal the code to update their site."? Is snapdrive.net not smart enough to recognize they're repeatedly hacked with their code copied to eggdisk? Again, considering that so many file hosts have similar interfaces, what is their evidence that eggdisk steals code? Further, how do they know eggdisk doesn't the same web app legitimately?

Ya.. you say snapdrive.. well they only allow 512mb or bandwith.. i mean on my myspace i use that in a day.. so they suck.. eggdisk has 6gb of space.. yes that alot in my opinion, thay have unlimited bandwidth.. NO LIMIT.. you can do what you want with your files and you can upload ANY FILES.. any one who says you can is LIEING!!! extremely slow & unreliable
improvement points for eggdisk:
1) i lost all my files that i stored online when they revamped eggdisk. i think file security is the most basic part of online storage.
2) its website loads extremely slowly. on many days my browser just gives up and says that the page cannot be loaded.
3) there is no progress bar to show how far your file has uploaded.

No longer a hosting site!
As of early June, 2007 they have sold their domain to some pixel advertising site. What a shame... They were my primary sharing site besides Rapidshare.com and I used them all the time to host my images and MP3s for a blog. I switched to mydatabus.com but they are hardly an eggdisk.com. Well, I just want to warn you all that they are NOT WHAT THEY USED TO BE!
