Download RapidShare Link Grab Helper v1.0 -
Use download manger to download your rapidshare files and as many files downloading
as you want (one file for every proxy you choose).
Step 1. Paste your RapidShare link (http://rapidshare.de/fil..ar.html)
Step2. Choose your proxy (one proxy for each file if you want multiple download) or leave blank (as set in your IE)
Step3. Click on Grab
Step4. Type the 3 RED letters in the blank space.

This service sux, dont recommend to anyone
I support other low rating writers that this site sucks. Premium account speed was abit better, but only 30kb/sec. Same time from some other (megaupload/filefactory) i get 100-120kb/sec.
I have used this service for some time and it sucks. Free users have maximum 50mb file download limit and speed is nightmare (i have 2mbit dsl line and i get 3kb/sec only).

My cons of RapidShare
I have a premium account with these fools and I am suppose to be able to have 10 gigs (10,000MiB per day) and I did transfer 3.5 gigs worth of files yesterday (2-1-06) and I was kicked off. When I got to the logs to find out why...I was told I had used up too much file transfer space. How the heck can you do that when you are 6.5 gigs shy of your account limit for the day?! They have done this on a daily basis for the last three or four days, and yet the morons only have one e-mail on the site and that goes to the webmaster...and just exactly what are they suppose to do except send on the email?

I dislike rapidshare
Rapidshare is changing the contract agreement on a one sided basis as I have friends who had accounts with this place who has not even used it in over a week (and the logs prove this as they are blank) yet if she tries to download something, it tells her she is over her limit.
Everyone would be well advised to stay away from this site till they get their act together and get this mess cleaned up and corrected.

1st is Rapidshare.de, people who have 3kb/s are either lying or are having problems with there internet connection.. I've been downloading from there for years and its never been slow for me.. Also they upgraded upload limits to 100mb now.. :)

What did I pay for?
Paid for premium privileges and really can't figure out what it gained me except removing the wait time that could have been gotten around other ways. I had found a couple of movies, unfortunately can't figure out exactly where, and downloaded them. One had good quality but no sound so useless, another was overdubbed in Russian! Not too useful! Got one marginal quality movie that actually plays in many hours of downloading.
Sure wish someone would tell me the advantages!!!

The good and bad sides of Rapidshare
The good things:
At Rapidshare you`ll get the full speed for up &dl. Also as a Free User. I have a high speed Internet connection and can get 1,5MB/s max for dl. and about 360KB/s for uploading(with 3 uploads at the same time)
Negative things:
One thing which is annoying on Rapidshare is the fact that you can (As a Free User) just dl 30MB per hour (If it is one file up to 100MB). Another fact is that the uploads are deleted after 30days of inactivity - means no dl.
Statistics:
dl: very fast 1.5MB/s
up: fast 360KB/s
max size: 100MB (hint: splitt youre files with winrar etc.)
time to expire: 30 days
limitation: dl = 30MB per hour
Summary:
Whould there be no limitations on expire and dl (especially dl)it would have been a good host. But as it is now I cannot recommend it. The waiting time of an hour is just annoying.Sorry if I say so.

Where is customer support?
Well, using rapidshare for free sucks, download limits and waitings are a nervous-breakdown but paying for using it sucks even more:
- Customer support can be described with few words: "they don't reply to your messages".
- 3GB daily download bandwidth is true but only if you spend all your time waiting when the download session will expire and start from the begining (every an hour or two in most cases). So forget the "I will queue 3GB and go to sleep", nope, you must stay awake and watch it.
There are many alternative services to use, don't waste your time and money with these guys.

I tried the free service & after typing in the access the code kept getting the "access code wrong" message every time even though I had made sure I typed the correct one. Finally would get it after about the 3rd or 4th time. It tried again today & they seemed to have changed something as I have tried about 20 times & keep getting the "access code wrong". Probably depends where you are located
Such differing views always make interesting reading. So who's right? Is RapidShare good and fast, or slow and crap? Well, as with anything internet, your mileage may vary as the saying goes, and it's going to depend on where you live and who your ISP is. RS use 3 major network carriers, and in London, UK, with one of the highest rated ISP's we generally get the best speed that our line will allow. On an 8Mbit down 400Kbit up ADSL, we get about 650KB (shown incorrectly as 650Kb in rapidget but actually 6500Kbit) and a maxed upload link of 400Kb. The download speed is actually quite startling, and faster than the ADSL line speed tester sites that we use, including the one that our own ISP has. Go figure that one. So for us, RS and RapidGet is a good combo. The RapidGet application does have a pretty poor user interface, and when disk space runs out, although the application is tolerant of it the files end up corrupted. So there are some wrinkles, but with such fast download speed, redownloading a file takes just a few minutes anyway so it's no biggie.
Before forking out for that years membership, I'd recommend taking the cheapest punt you can, and seeing how it is for you. If you've a good ISP with low contention ratio or non-byte hungry neighbours, then the chances are that you'll get a good response.

The fastest file hoster
It's the fastest, the restrictions for free users are not so bad, it's the file hoster most used by people to upload and share, great for big uploads, like dvd iso, because the file limit for upload is now 300 MB.
However, my complaint is that they accept for payment only paypal and direct bank transfer, no credit/debit cards, no other methods for payment. I don't have paypal in my country, and international bank transfer for small amounts is not practical due to high bank fees for international transfer.

I have a premium account w/this host & will NOT renew. Unlimited? Bullshit, you get 3k Mb/24 hrs.
Virtually every file over 150 = a server time-out. when the file begins to re-download, you lose that amount from your account.
If you use a file downloader such as Rapid-Get, you either have to sit & watch every fucking file as it downloads, or risk having it restart & restart again & again, thus losing your entire UNLIMITED download amount for the day, w/o the successful completion of a single file.

Using download managers with rapidshare
I bought a premium account recently with rapidshare.
The problem is using the download managers with rapidshare as a premium user.
RapGet v1.2 it downloads fine just add your links there and it downloads, but the problem is all the files are corrupted after you try to extract with winrar. ok I thought it was a bad rar file but after constantly having the same problem with all files downloaded that day there is a serious problem with RapGet v1.2
I also tried Internet Download Manager v5.05, better but unreliable as downloads in the list cut off and need to be re downloaded.
Why have RapidGet v1.2 at rapidshare if it doesn't work?
The only way to download without any problem is one file at a time.
This is not to my liking as a premium user,as most files I download from rapidshare are 8 rar parts for one file download.
Problem is most files I want are with rapidshare.
I want to use a download manager but they just ** you around by expiring your links as you get to the other link.

I think Moggie is right, it depends your location. I never had problems with RS and downloads are pretty fas. I also have a test account for 2 days, and man, I download the 3GB every day. I don't know why people complain, really.
Other hosts, like Megaupload, Axifile, Depositfiles, File Factory, Best Sharing, etc, sometimes are fast, most times are slow. Every other hosts have file and time limit, equal or shorter RS and every other hosts had a payed plan, wich usually works like RS, so the critics are not faire. Worst: even if you pay them, with the exception of Megaupload, your files are deleted after 180 days. For a paying account, IMHO, is unacepptable! In RS if you pay, you're the king.
Also, it's the most visible file host in the net, so they pay more attention on illegal content and copyright infrigment (you can notest that every bad word about this is from people who upload commercial music and movies, wich is illegal). Is the best host if you choose to pay an account.

RapidShare simply DOES NOT WORK with many ISPs. Biggest problem seems to be ISPs which funnel traffic thru a transparent proxy. RapidShare thinks all downloads from that ISP are coming from a single user. So of course it maxes out its limits instantly and almost nobody can download.
There's no way around this problem, apart from canceling your internet service and finding an ISP in your area that doesn't use a proxy - that's just not possible for most people.
Oh, and apart from all that, even when RapidShare does work, it still SUCKS half the time. I think they deliberately make the service unreliable to force people to pay for premium accounts (which also have problems...)
If you're gonna put a file on RapidShare, at least put another copy on BitTorrent or Emule to give people some chance...

Why does everyone want to use this lumbering pain in the arse? Don't know about uploading, and everyone says the the so called premium accounts are the biggest rip off scam about, but as a freebie downloader it sucks arse big time! You can dismiss me as a leecher if you want but what's the point of uploading something if users can't readily access it?
If you use an ISP with a single proxy access to the net (most of the world for all I know) you gonna almost always be hit with the "you've already downloaded your limit" even if you've never been near the site in a month. If you're very lucky you might chance to grab a file once every couple of hours, but with some downloads split into 20 or more bits because of the file size limit it becomes a pointless exercise - just like being back on dial up and spending 5 days downloading a CD.
On the up - when you do manage to snag a file the speed's usually pretty good.

Rapidshare is great service, but its real POWER is unleashed when you become a Premium User. Sure, for sharing little files like drivers etc it is fine to use it as a free user but once you start downloading whole DVD's, then a subscription is a must.
As far as speed, all those who complain have a problem on their end. I am at a college in the continental United States, and I can tell you that at night when all the shaping rules are inactive, I get 10Mbps dload from Rapidshare.com and that's not too shabby speed wise. Could be faster, but I'd have to have like a T3 this end and even then, I am sure I'd still get T3 speeds from rapidshare.
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, so if you want a decent service without too many restrictions, then be prepared to pay. My only real peeve with rapidshare is their 5GB/day restriction; having 10Mbps it is WAY too easy to download 20GB before you realize it, but at the moment hard drive space is becoming rather limiting so that's not a problem!
Hats off to rapidshare, another good German product. They know their stuff them Germans!

I have bought a rapidshare account 15 days ago. They said that I ca download maximum 25GB in 5 days.
